This is a non-traditional textbook introduction to a typically very dry and difficult subject: machine vision/image processing.
This field is usually very math-heavy and full of boring theory that is difficult to apply, but the book uses modern teaching methods, engaging examples and stresses conceptual understanding and practical applications.
Many visual examples are tongue-in-cheek and cater to a younger audience (dragons, unicorns, pugs,..). Nevertheless, the book goes to a highly advanced level and contains original information that can't be found anywhere else.

Público al que se apunta
Typical reader: male, 25-35 years old, professional engineers/scientists working in their first job / a new lab; nerdy/introvert/Reddit; all of them have a background in programming LabVIEW - which is tool for pragmatic people rather than uber-geeks
Tipo de portada de libro
Tapa blanda o Paperback
Atributos de estilo
Necesidades de diseño
- Book cover is 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm)
- Attached are book covers I like and some screenshots of the interior
- The interior uses Big John + Kozuka Gothic Pro as fonts, but this is not required. Just take note that the interior is atypical for an engineering textbooks
Look & Feel:
- Bold, attention-grabbing, contemporary design
- Minimal with strong typography is preferred
Colors & images:
Bold colors preferred. Big images of fruit / ideally a watermelon would be nice. But images are not mandatory, I'm happy with a pure-typography design
Message I'm trying to send:
This is the most cutting-edge book on the topic, it is unusual, engaging (for a dry subject) and fun
Lo que debe evitarse
The design shouldn't be cheesy/childish. It's still a professional textbook requiring a background in engineering.
