Description: I am looking for a cover in the young adult themed fantasy genre. Preference for a photo-manipulated look. Not a fan of overly dark covers. There's "something" in the water. a "wight" can be a child...a creature...a witch...it's a mystery.
Text for back cover:
"An earth-shaking book!"
~ Old Man Massive
In a post-cataclysmic world threatened by stinking ooze, a brave girl searches for her missing parents with the help of talking animals and evolving powers. When a mountain spirit challenges her to save the planet, she and a flying frog must overcome a magical, malicious castle of sand and a shapeshifter who wants her dead.
**I’ve listed links to some covers I like below**
I'd like to see some representation of the hero (Celeste), the talking mountain, the frog, the oozing water, and a vulture.
My hero is a skinny 14-year-old girl (no facial details), think tomboyish in baggy jeans and a leather jacket. She wears her long, curly black hair tied back in an emerald green scarf. Old Man Massive is the mountain spirit who challenges her to save the planet from the stinking ooze. His skyward-facing profile juts out from below the tallest peak of a lopsided mountain range. His rocky features include one massive eye (think of a chiseled profile where only the right side of his face protrudes from the rocky mountain, a horizontal profile) with a brambly brow, a bulbous nose and a long beard. The top of the mountain range is covered in ash, which looks like snow. (no active volcano). The girl visits him frequently, sitting atop his nose when she speaks to him. She also can fly.
A 50-pound flying frog with impossibly delicate shimmering wings, webbed feet the size of battle shield, and gold-flecked jade eyes becomes her main protector. He never meets the mountain.
A huge fissure has released a smelly, silvery-pink ooze that has destroyed all but one village far away from the mountain spirit on the other side of the growing body of water, where our hero finds a frightened group of young survivors (minor characters).
A shapeshifter who prefers the body of an ugly black vulture pursues our protagonist, and an enormous sand castle beckons her to live within its infinitely expanding walls.
The main threat is a silvery-pink, sulphur-belching ooze that is expanding across the land. It creates a smelly fog above the water. It has come from a deep fissure on the planet. The sky is always clear and blue, never a cloud because it doesn’t rain.
