Hello! I’m releasing a YA science fantasy (= sci fi + fantasy) novel in June, and need the cover (e-book and paperback).
I would like the cover to show an immense dragon and an 18-year old blond girl in a long white dress, possibly a ’magical knife/blade’ in hand. She is a magic-singer, and can have ’glowing magic light’ on her hands as well. The dragons are a bit like crocodiles or dinosaurs (not ’evil’), so their eyes should look like animal eyes, not ’devilish’ etc.
The scenery can be marshland, water, forest, or mountain scenery, and if you like, you can even add some amusement park imagery (there are broken-down amusement parks on the planet, overgrown with wilderness). I’m very open to different suggestions for the background.
In more detail, in the story, the girl’s wearing a white silk dress all the way to her toes (long!), and white shoes with little heels, and has a purse, and optionally a curved knife/blade (she ran off in a hurry and didn’t think things through). Her hands can have a magical glow.
To give more details about the dragons in this book, they are something like twenty-foot, ’real life’ like animals, dangerous like a dinosaur or a crocodile. Their faces can have long snouts like a seahorse, and they can have manes (similar as horses), but short snout and no mane is fine also. The wings are large enough to actually fly with (think bird or bat).
I most like somewhat photorealistic styles, or close to it. Manipulated stock photos would work out great.
The overlook could be colorful, with ’magic glow’, and big light/dark contrasts. Danger, action and adventure. The target audience is 14-adult, with weight on the adult side (it’s not a ’harmless’ little girls’ book).
I will be happy to clarify any questions! Looking forward to this!
