A Detroit Story (or “Detroit Story”) is a new musical, a multigenerational epic of two families: one black, one white, alongside figures like Henry Ford, Berry Gordy, and Coleman Young, exploring how the city shaped them, and they shaped it, as the music flows from Swing to Motown to Techno.
The main theme is a lifetime relationship between black and white friends, Stella and Rose. They are best friends, but there is also plenty of tension between the two of them. If the logo portrays the two girls, then (1) they must have identical body types and facial features, (2) the black girl would have big curly hair, the white girl straight hair (a pigtail?) and (3) they would be teenagers.
Stella, our main character, becomes a strong schoolteacher who overcomes adversity to inspire future generations of Detroiters.
• NOTE: The two obvious traditional themes for things Detroit, cars and Motown, should not be included in this design. Musical themes should NOT be included in the design.
