This is a 'superman' character for whom boys suffering from the genetic blindness called Blue Cone Monochromacy would imagine what they would be in their dream. We would like to develop this cartoonish character to be the face of the non profit patient advocacy, and have the character tell the stories of patient challenges, everything from mobility, school issues, medical challenges etc.,
Key attributes of the character include
- They have to wear magenta 'superpower' goggle - this reflects what patients have to wear to protect their remaining color vision
- Make it heavy on the blue hue, since that's the only color BCM patients see. Also note that the rest of the color turns into black and white depending on the color darkness - imagine watching on old black and white TV with just blue color added on. Please keep this in mind when you select color pallet. For an example, if you juxtapose deep red and dark grey, they won't be distinguishable to BCM patients. BCM patients can see white letters on black background on their mobile devices, so that's another attributes to keep in mind.
The character should incorporate BCM attributes - they see better at night. . Many BCM boys are shy from their blindness, but they would like to have a super power to fly around and help other people.
Key feature of the character should include magenta goggle that let them see everything despite their disease, superpower cape that is may be blue in color, maybe superpower shoes that make them fly around, some superpower wearable device that let them talk and read anything. It may have a Superman S-like logo on its chest, maybe blue eye that's similar to the eye logo we are attaching here. The eye logo attached here can be a clasp that hold the capes in place. Superpower buckle can read as "M" or "MM" for Monochrome Man. It'd be great if we can get separate graphics for a side-kick dog, "Monochrome Dog" based on Western Highlander Terrier breed, which is a favorite dog of our favorite BCM boy. You may also develop a self-driving 'Monochrome Mobile', similar to Bat Mobile.
I think the character should look like a late teen to early twenty man, but I will leave the exact depiction of age (or non-depiction) to designers
