My clients tend to be senior staff at software companies (VPs of Marketing, CEOs, and CTOs, most commonly). While they are senior enough that they don't want silliness, the software industry does have a playful side.
So, if you can come up with something that is sophisticated with a playful edge, you are probably winning this contest.
In case it helps get the design machine running, the general outcomes that my clients look for are:
- A more complete product portfolio to offer the marketplace
- A reinvention of an aging product or service
- Stronger connections between their company and their end-users
- Longer-term, steady, product success (measured by their customers' satisfaction)
