We are a not for profit that does projects combining the aims of social work, the scale of technology, and the connection of art to tackle big problems.
We call this "Social Artfrastructure", we're cheeky about this, we know the word sounds silly and made up, but it represents how we want to make theatre, visual art, literature etc. that continues to play a role in changing people's lives for generations.
One of these programs is "Yes And", a project where we go into schools and we teach kids emotional regulation tools through improvised theatre. In other words, we give them skills to help when life is upsetting while teaching them how to be funny, because we know that emotional regulation plays a key role in mental health issues like depression, anxiety, addiction and self harm.
Other projects include "Where they're coming from", a play tackling islamaphobia matched with an online platform to make Muslim kids feel more like they're at home. As well as "Rather than Later" a play about the lessons we learn in love from our elders, aiming to increase volunteering to aged care services throughout our state.
The logo will be used on official letterhead to foundations, potential board members, on shirts we use in schools, and shirts we give to volunteers. It needs to feel like the logo of a movement that people are invited to join, as well as a symbol of the culture we want to create.
