Founded in 1987, the Affordable Community Residence Association (ACRA) is a 501 (c) (3) organization that serves individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS and other disabilities by providing diverse, supportive housing options.
To provide diverse housing options, compassionate care and access to collaborative support services for persons living with disabilities and HIV/AIDS allowing them to thrive in the community.

We are celebrating 30 years as a non-profit. Our name "ACRA" is already well-established in our local community. Our mission and clientele have changed quite a bit since our founding. This design contest is one part of our re-branding efforts. We would like our new logo to reflect progress, positivity, and inspiration. We hope it will be impactful in color and black and white. We'd like it to be amenable to digital (social) and print media. In addition, we hope the winning designer will be willing to modify the design (a second version) to incorporate "30 years" or "celebrating 30 years of service" for marketing campaign in the near term.
Some starting points for design elements: stepping through a door; foundation (as a symbol of stable housing); light shining through a window; a view through a window to a road beyond (future possibilities); the security of a home; images that bring to mind "thriving", being connected to the community, or a new/second life; a flower or flower(s) since many of our residents past and present have taken up gardening. We will be thrilled with all creative ideas. We were founded to serve individuals with HIV (and this is still main part of our clientele) so a subtle "nod" to HIV (e.g., red HIV ribbon) would be a nice touch that would help tell our "story," but we would not rather not over-do this angle because we have broadened our offerings to individuals with other disabilities.
