Dental office. The logo, therefore, is for recognition with both current patients and potential patients.

The picture portion of the logo (of the mountains) should reflect the hues found in the more iconic pictures of the layered blue ridge mountains. That is to say, the colors should be a dark blue mountain (the closest mountain), a lighter blue mountain (the next furthest away), and a very light blue mountain (the furthest mountain away).

I am looking for a logo design that is simple enough to be embroidered on clothing or stamped on an envelope and classy enough to look good on a website, business cards, and letterhead. I have uploaded some samples that I have sketched out that attempt to embody the concept. I would like for the logo to reflect the appearance and beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains, which is where my dental practice is located, and include the name "High Country Dentistry." Ideally, there will be (a) three (b) layered and (c) rounded mountains (d) of three shades of blue (darkest first and lightest last) that pretty realistically reflect the shades of blue seen in our mountains in the mornings and evenings (it's okay to exaggerate the colors a little, just not too much). The name of the office can be incorporated into the mountains as long as it is highly readable. Being both readable and classy is the goal for the appearance of the name. Besides that, the name could be placed anywhere above, below, or beside the mountains (I may have a preference for beside or below), but if done right I'm sure it could look very good above the mountains as well. I would not be opposed to the name having some color as well. There might be a neat way to incorporate greens (and possibly browns or even fall leaf colors) from the trees into the name so that it reflects that part of our natural surroundings as well. The color(s) of the business name just needs to look good next to the blues of the mountains. I'm not opposed to black. Also, it should look nice on a white coat as it will be embroidered on them (which means the colors will need to be fairly straightforward). The mountains can be stylized so long as they more or less keep with the overall shape (not pointy like the Rockies) and color scheme. I am uploading several logos with comments in the file names that tell you what I think about them. I hope that information will be displayed for you. If not, "Boone" is a little too simple; "Blue Ridge Mountain Resources" and "Mountain Expedition" have mountains that are too pointy; "Blue Ridge Mountain Life" is simple enough but ugly; "Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center" is pretty but the mountains are a little too complex; "Appalachian Realty" is pretty but tries to accomplish a little too much for my purposes; "Blue Ridge Homes" has the right shapes, but the logo is ugly; "Back to the Blue Ridge with Public Radio" is pretty awesome... makes me wish I was a blue grass band looking for a logo - they layer the blues well; the other is the logo of the Blue Ridge Parkway, which suffers the same problem my current logo does - too busy and more of a landscape scene than a simple logo. The hand-drawn concepts are my own sketches. My favorite of my sketches is the one with cross hatching for creating the darker shades of blue and High Country Dentistry written below. My current logo is also included. It's too busy for my taste as it is more of a landscape painting than a simplified logo. Also, I've uploaded some photos of the Blue Ridge Mountains so you can note the gradation of bluish colors. I believe that covers all the bases. Sorry for my wordiness!
