Most of all, we’d appreciate your creative take. We’ll describe some of our preferences and current thoughts, but we’re not designers so we don’t want to overly limit your creativity.
In summary (more details below), from the Logo Design eBook (https://99designs.com/attachment/225/download/Logo_eBook_99designs):
* Our preferred logo styles are: material and minimalism.
* Our favorite type of logo is: combination marks, probably combining elements of wordmarks, pictorial marks, and/or abstract marks.
After reviewing a number of logos, we’ve found that we like logos that are clean, modern and potentially have a tech-y feel, as well as ones that have a playful feel. We’d probably like there to be more than one color.
We enjoy when fonts are used creatively; for example, missing or added parts of letters, non standard fonts, lines from multiple characters/words bleeding into or interacting with each other, character lines leading in to the logo or a design element, etc.
We’re currently leaning towards an overall design that has both “tl;dr sec” and some sort of stylized logo or creative flourish from the name adjacent to it. So “tl;dr sec” with some font creativity + related logo/design element.
Here are some adjectives we feel describe our brand: trustworthy, insightful, professional, informed, thoughtful, unbiased/fair/honest, competent, helpful, irreverent, playful, funny, friendly, approachable.
