Mission: StartFinder mission is to create the most valuable portfolio on Polish investment market through supporting disruptive ideas not only with financing them but also by sharing out broad network (science, big industry, corporations) and merit support.
StarFinder is an investment company investing in high-tech projects (life scences, engineering, IT) at the pre-seed, seed and startup stage of growth. We offer incubation & acceleration services for projects supported by us finacially- we provide full & individual care of our investment analyst over the project's development & commercialization, merit support of experts & advisors from our network and full access to it (ia. other investment funds, angel investors, big industry, corporations, scientists, unoversities, technology parks etc)
We are one of few funds investing only in projects supported with strong intelectual property (patents, difficult to copy technology, researches). Our investment portoflio is one of the strongest on the Polish market. It consists only from projects from B2B sector which don't require big marketing funds.
What differs us as well is concentration not just on Polish market but looking wider - we scan the technology market in CEE region as well as Polish diaspora centres around the world. Our strong point is our network as well. We have extensive contacts with investment funds and other startups-supporting organizations, universities & technology parks in Israel, Western Europe.
History of the organisation:

It was founded and owned by Startup Hub Poland Foundation (est.2012) thanks to that the found could use the high recognition of SHP, it's networks and contacts. The fund coivested with Giza polish Ventures VC fund, which had been on the market for over 20 years and was highly recognizable & respected fund.
Now the fund (StarFinder) is separated unit, which needs it's own ways of communication & branding. The fund's focus and spread is Central & Eastern Europe as well as Polish diaspora centres around the world.

We have 2 different audences:
Founders of high-tech projects (scientists, "geeks", typical startuppers)
VC funds/ Seed Funds / big industry / corporations / internal investors
This group we can divide into 2 subgroups: First one are people connected with science, so scientists, proffesors, technology brokers. This environment is quite hermetic but it values professionalism, clarity in information transfer (especially from the business point). Their interests are tightly related to their work and area which they are researching. Age: 30-50.
Another subgroup is startup community and founders of technological startups. They are open for establishing new relations (typical networkers), they are visible on the Internet & social media, very often they are called influencers in very narrow specialisation, they track up-to-date news from technology branch, follow the trends. They are young (20-35), creative and ambitious.
This group we can divide into 3 subgroups. First one are VC/seed funds. They are open and communicative. They follow trends in technologies, are present on the Internet & social media, they also carry on open dialog with the community. Usually their teams consists of young and ambitious people, who are managed by more experienced in investment sector managers. Their interests are tightly related to their work, which they do with passion.
The other subgroup is big indystry and corporations. This group is becoming more and more open for startup community, because is looking for innovative solutions to be able to implement into their structures. They are looking for possibilities of cooperation between funds like StarFinder (the cooperation fruits are usually common acceleration programs). More and more often people responsible for cooperation with startup sector are young, with former experience related to startups (they were founders of startups/ working in funds or startup-supporting organisations). Those people are open, visible on social media (very often they also act as influencer/ experts in the specific industry). Their private interests are related to their work as well.
Third subgroup is internal investors, who invest their private capital into the fund. Those people are usually older (40-70 years old), experienced and wealthy (we can call them as financial elite of the society). They are interested in trends in new technologies and private equity markets. Very often they acts as mentors and give public speaches/ interviews. They are recognizable and respected in the investment environment.
