Today, in the United States we lack a gold standard model and a center of excellence dedicated to treating Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) suffered by a significant percentage of the more than 280,000 female veterans and of those an estimated 56,000 who have suffered military sexual trauma (MST), we have deployed to Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
The Athena Mission is a pilot program focused on developing a national model that will comprehensively treat and empower combat women veterans addressing mental health issues related to: war zone related trauma; military sexual trauma; addiction; poor transition including lack of employment, education, stable housing, and/or legal issues; family issues including domestic violence and divorce; and poor social support, including limited support structures, limited outpatient care, and limited healthy leisure activities.

Athena is the goddess of war and knowledge. Symbolism speaking to military or greek gods is a great idea.
The message is intended to focus on empowerment not pity.
Empowering women to be a partner in the rebuilding and restoration of their mental health and quality of life.
We want something clean and easy to understand, a focus on traditional classic design.
Our board consists of Generals and Military personal - so straight forward to the point design is wanted.
We also value emerging and high technology ideas to help our veterans. We would want to have creative touches to our design. Not something too boring or professional.
