We are a boutique residential real estate company and we are launching a web site called http://www.sancapliving.com. This is to be more than a typical real estate site providing "a better way to search" Sanibel & Captiva Islands in Southwest Florida. We are going to provide a ton of original web content that is candid, informative and helps people "live their dream" as we like to say so we want a brand identity that equally memorable to provide a fresh look at the island life here on Sanibel & Captiva. It's about the sun, water, pedestrian friendly lifestyle where you appreciate the natural beauty that is here and a carefree way of life but you are also connected to the mainland US just over the causeway. At the end of the day, we are selling island lifestyle and they way to get there is picking a "home" in our most user friendly website.

We are about to launch San Cap Living (sancapliving.com) to become the definitive destination site for real estate offerings on Sanible & Captiva Islands in Florida. This is about creating a far more compelling search experience for real estate an a brand that is all about service and making the process both Easy, Fun and a joy to find that perfect abode to live the island dream you have always wanted. We really want to convey this idea of a barefoot lifestyle that is understated, healthy and improves one's quality of life. We want the brand to be this state of mind and the logo should be help with this expression of life. We like the simplicity of the YOLO logo, the call to life of the Island Company with the warmth of the Key West images. Feelings of nostalgia from the "Come In Were Open" are desired in the font and styling as well as an iconic cartoon of the Sanibel Lighthouse below would be interesting to explore. As a final thought, I am a big believer in the notion of Simplicity. I don't mean simple but coming up with a brand identity that takes a lof of ideas (real estate, island living, a search service, etc) and distilling that down to a base logo and brand that helps over time to accentuate a state of mind of living on these beautiful islands. I welcome seeing this vision come to life in the logo development so while I talk about a lot of ideas, feel free to start with an approach that favors more simplicity than trying to do too much.
