We want to convey a global image, even though we're still relatively small.
In terms of the contest, we will judge the first round on quality of logo alone. You are welcome to provide contextual placing but it is the quality of logo we will judge this round on, and the majority of the final decision too. We're also very keen to see use of fonts if used within the logo that might end up as our corporate heading font (we will need a corporate font to accompany, this must be a free font with a general commercial usage licence).
We are not yet convinced one way or the other whether the logo needs to be both logotype and logomark, or logotype alone. I think we're convinced it won't be solely a logomark. Other mood words to bear in mind - niche, specialists, deep expertise, agile, responsive, energetic, growing, entrepreneurial.
We'd also like to have a Powerpoint template designed, LinkedIn background banner done as well as an email signature done in addition, after the branding is done. This will most likely be done as a 1-1 project afterwards.
Some more background on us - we are 55 people split across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We're doing more international work also. See current site and LinkedIn for current news/messaging to get a feel for us. However, we serve a very big cumbersome, global space so other key mood words would be trust, risk adverse, strong delivery, and governance.
This contest will be run by our web design / development partner who has run many successful contests under their 99d user 'adventia'. Feel free to browse their previous contests, including our previous website build 4 years ago! They will provide prompt and detailed feedback on our behalf on all designs.
