I purposely didn't give too much guidance here in terms of visual styles that I'm looking for my logo because I'm looking to work with an artist (not just a graphic designer) and I don't want to hinder that artist at all from their vision/expression. What I'm looking to do is convey emotions and that can be conveyed in an infinite number of ways depending on the depth and sophistication of the artist and their design.
If my logo was a food and I had to list the ingredients, I would say I'd like it to be...Sophisticated, timeless, witty, sharp, casual, organic, kind, reassuring, and eye-catching because it's confident in what it is, not because it's flashy. The logo should be able to work in the Manhattan real estate market, but also a more laid-back nature-oriented area like the rural Colorado market as well.
What I will say is that I like the idea of the logo being more simple than complex. What I mean by that is...Not too "busy." My clients could be recent college graduates, CEO's, actors, doctors, or just your average 9 to 5'er. However I believe that whoever the client is, is more likely to reply to something that is easy to understand, but then very sophisticated when they study it further.
I also like the idea that the logo design is timeless. I like something that is classic, but also very modern and even forward-thinking. The logo should have looked good 10 years ago and should look good 10 years from now. It should appeal to any age group as long as the person is a good person and wants to work with a real estate company that cares about their well-being.
I assume there's a reason why you are a designer and that is because you're creative, so I want that creativity to know no bounds here. Hopefully you create because you love what you do and everything else follows that. Be as original, creative, and open-minded as you like. I'm very excited to see what you come up with as I want to be surprised and invigorated about using your logo as my company's main emblem for a long time.
In a nutshell aim for this...
Sophisticated yet simple. Modern, but timeless. Professional, but warm
and friendly. Sharp, witty, and the kind of logo that actually is a
piece of art.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you very much for taking the time.
