We are a brand supporting ALL things masculine, aiming to bring masculinity back from the dead, and finding ways to bring men together. The name comes from a balanced masculinity having a gentle/supportive side (e.g. handing a handkerchief to a crying woman) and a determined/aggressive side (e.g. defending your family with a gun).
We'll discuss relationship/sexual strategy (TIP: did you know the handkerchief was used as a code for flirting in the 1800s? see https://www.geriwalton.com/handkerc…language/). We'll also discuss how to be firm and strong with your boundaries to be the leader of your family and other men as you were meant to be.
It should target middle-aged to older men, from suburban and rural neighborhoods, with varying levels of education. The brand will also teach various masculine, blue-collar skills/trades (e.g. woodworking) to men of all ages and types.

I like the vintage design and stereotype of a gentleman.
I like the strength of the type and logo
I like this vintage design that portrays strength
I like the vintage design and the logo preview on wood (since our Men's Shed will be doing a lot of woodworking)
It looks very masculine and includes a good stereotype of a man
It's a good masculine design that portrays honor/loyalty
It has a good masculine feel but mustaches are WAY overused. I don't want anything trite or overused and would prefer something more original
I saw this on the 99designs homepage and really like the layout and masculine feel of the logo with the business card
I really like the detail and color combination of red/gray in this business card and design.
I like this illustration of extending a handkerchief in this clipart from http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/21100/21104/handkerchief_21104.htm
Because we're trying to reinvigorate masculinity, it'd be interesting to explore vintage designs from back when gentlemen were more "celebrated" and gender stereotypes were more defined. However, I'm worried about coming across as too trite or hipster with possible imagery of a gentleman (e.g. mustache and top hat) so it's not a requirement for this design. Feel free to explore it though! Or try using some stereotypes that are a bit more blue-collar and not as overused.
The first project/channel for this non-profit brand will be a Men's Shed (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men%27s_shed). However, we'll also be publishing a blog and hosting small groups so the Men's Shed component shouldn't really be a part of the logo other than as a logo lockup. It'd be interesting to see how "Men's Shed" could appear as a sample lockup logo though.
NOTE: I've seen a few designs with a gun being pointed or held by hand. This comes across as TOO aggressive/defensive so I'd like to stay away from that.
