President -Elect campaign for the American Dental Association
Cuéntanos a qué tipo de público quieres llegar
American Dental Association Delegates from all across the country who are all Dentists are voting for the next President-Elect in October. Dr. Terry Buckenheimer (my husband) is one of 3 men running for President-Elect. Most of the delegates are in their mid 50's, but go from mid 20's to late 60's. There are 5 dental students and some young dentists but most are mid-age, mostly male but females are increasing in numbers. Approximately 600 dentists will be voting and receive this brochure and represent every state. The brochure will be mailed to the Delegates a few weeks prior to the meeting - end of Sept. Some of the older dentists like tradition, like the President to look "presidential" and professional. Some of the younger dentists think we need a more "modern" president who relates to the younger dentists. Terry is the liaison to the Student Dental Association this year and the younger dentists love him. He is always there offering guidance and support. He is also respectful for those "traditionalists". He respects the past, understands the challenges facing dentistry today, and has a vision for the future for an even greater ADA. So I think a brochure that looks presidential with a twist! Most dentists are caring people, trustworthy, giving, and want the best for their profession. They are very busy, so the brochure needs white space and short sentences that captures the qualities of Dr. Terry Buckenheimer without overwhelming them.
¿Qué idea tienes, qué estilo te gusta para tu brochure?
We provided a brief brochure at the last annual meeting and this will give you ideas. I will also provide pictures of a few brochures from the past from other candidates. We will hand out small pins with Terry's name on it and they are red/blue/gold. So the colors are pretty much red/white/blue. But maybe a bit softer as to not compete with the US Presidential election!! I will upload pictures. They do not all need to be used, and they have not been cropped or touched up. I am hoping you will help with that. We favor a layered, textured look for visual interest emphasizing the photos for more impact. We want to "grab" the voter to say "Wow! Terry looks like he would be a great president!" We want to promote him as accessible, approachable, and inclusive - like Bill Clinton who makes you feel like you are the only one in the room. We want the brochure to be fabulous and what ever position it is - it is always clear that it is Terry and draws attention. When open, closed, on front and back - it needs to have Terry's name. Possibly layer the photos so that your eye goes from one photo to the next but let's the reader stop on the one that means something to them. We want this like "eye candy" says a friend. Hah! We like white space!

Good question, I can't think of anything. We want this to feel good for all - inclusion is important.
