Assembly
"Assembly" for iPhone is an application construction kit. Users "assemble" widgets together to form an application. For example, select and configure a label widget, a clock widget and a button widget to create an alarm clock.
Ease of use is the foundation for this application and the icon/logo should reflect this. A few keywords to keep in mind as you conceptualize the artwork.
- simplicity
- interface elements (button, label, text box, map, clock, picture etc.)
- construction kit
- design
- widgets
- gadgets
- plug-in-play
- puzzle pieces
- legos
An idea..
- a few puzzle pieces stuck together, each one having a UI element (textbox, map, button). has the apple look with depth and shadow. start from there and run with it..
I am looking for simplicity with the smaller iPhone icon but the Logo can contain as much detail as necessary to portray the message.
Stay away from using anything related to the iTunes app store icon which sits on the home page of every device.
The audience will be all iphone/ipod touch users. Again, simplicity is key here. The design should reflect how easy it is to whip up an simple application in a few minutes by dragging and dropping widgets around.
Our goal is to build theme specific applications on top of the "Assembly" design that would focus on building a specific type of application.. "Assembly Clock" or "Assembly List" or "Assembly Map".
We are looking for both a large size logo and an iPhone icon. The iPhone icon should conform to the apple specification for icons. The logo should be scalable to be used in both the application itself as it's splash screen and online marketing materials.
Because this design will be used in future applications we would need to receive the project file used to create this artwork so that specific elements could be switched out with others down the road if needed.
