Current F.A.S.T. icons (see attachments for reference) are usually too complicated, too hard to understand, and too amateur for us. We want to raise the bar, both visually and in terms of "at a glance" communication.
To do this, we want to develop a set of F.A.S.T. stroke icons showing the 4 principles of F.A.S.T.:
Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Are the words slurred? Can he/she repeat the sentence correctly?
If the person shows any of these symptoms, time is important.
Call 911 or get to the hospital fast. Brain cells are dying.
The icons should embody the following qualities:
1. Simple, iconic.
2. Clear and easy to understand.
3. Elegant, high-end look and feel.
The icons should not be:
1. Cartoonish or childish.
We're looking for icons only; we don't need the associated text.
