We like Web 2.0-style graphics - big, soft, rounded, edgy, modern with fading reflections, but this needs to look ultra high-end. These systems are very high-performance, expensive and designed for the military where reliability and rock-solid engineering are critical. We need to strike a delicate balance between military-grade and consumer friendly - something Mercedes flirted with in their G-series.
The background on the displays can either be abstract or life-like representations of typical content like what you see here:
They need to be printable, so something close to 300dpi would be great, but the onscreen size will not likely exceed 150x150 or 300x300
We need a white background and a smooth fade out in the reflection
We are not looking for a badge or button. The imagery doesnt need to be encased in a shiny polygon of any kind. Just like the attached samples.
We need to de-emphasize the seams between the displays - they are so small they are virtually seamless. The seamlessness of the system is an important aspect that needs to be communicated.
