This year marks our 65th anniversary and we are having a dinner gala/fundraiser in October.
We would like the invitation materials to reflect the late 40's since that is when we were "born" (1948). I attempted to achieve that with a collage design using our actual historical photos in a choice of both b&w and sepia tones with use of 40's style fonts on the back. Then, I also created a prototype showing our timeline through the decades (taken from a historical slide that will actually be displayed digitally at the event itself) that features a quirky use of the popular fonts on each decade. Neither are quite hitting the mark for an event of this significance and we'd like to see what other designers can come up with in terms of a late 40's theme for the invitation materials.
The invitation itself is 8.5x5.5" (half of a regular 8.5x11 sheet); postcard style (front and back only, no fold over). The attached pdf shows all 3 preliminary designs and back of card in a 2-up format.
Even though the gala is technically Easter Seals' 65th anniversary, the focus is less on us, the organization, and more about how far people with disabilities have come in the past six and half decades. It's important that photos used in the piece are from our historic database of real photos if the design calls for use of photos. In the interim, a placeholder can be used and swapped out later for a real photo.
Please note: our official branding colors are PMS186 RED with gray and gold accents.
