Create a stylish, modern app icon for Nomly

Nomly's core audience are people who travel and want to connect with the local communities for their food, drink, and fun recommendations. The app is about connecting with people while traveling.

You can see our current icon by going to the app store: https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-…40037?mt=8. This is too retro of a design. Nomly is a fresh, new way to discover local, and I feel like this old icon doesn't reflect our brand or personality. And it doesn't take advantage of the latest iOS/mobile trends in "flat" simple designs. I want to keep the core red color.

The design should NOT be limited to just food and drink. The core purpose of the app is to connect and chat with real people.

Do NOT feel obliged to include any elements from the existing logo, other than the color. The reason I'm running this contest is to get a new icon, so don't just give me back a derivative of the old icon.

DO try to include something related to the voice messaging feature OR something related to the fact that you can chat directly with real people.

I'm looking for a very simple icon (one or two colors, no gradients, no 3D effects). Something that incorporates the letter 'n' and something related to some of the core concepts of the app (like voice messaging, chatting with locals, traveling, etc)

The standout feature here is that you can actually talk directly to real people through the app. These people's job is to help you find a good place to eat, drink, and have fun around town.
