This is for a Digipak booklet/Digital Download booklet which includes: Front cover art, 2 inside pages and a back cover.
-Colors: I am thinking it should be more monochromatic or blue, black, white, grey (I've attached an image called: Cyborg Head Black and Blue colors). It is the one with a profile of a robot head with a film reel over the ear.
-The 2 inside pages should have a minimal, un-obtrusive look so I can type in text later for credits, lyrics, etc. It should tie in with what is on the front cover with color and texture (Mechanical schematic/Film/X-ray damage). Making it look like a mechanical schematic could work well with the nature of the project.
-The back cover can also have a minimal look that ties into the front cover as well.
-The front cover needs the name of the band: "Cyborg Asylum"
and the album title: "Never Finished, Only Abandoned"
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a heavy metal band, so do not make the fonts or images look like Iron Maiden or Metallica. I'm thinking clean, modern fonts that look somewhat futuristic but not over the top.
-As for the cover image, I would like it to have a damaged film and/or damaged X-ray look or a mechanical/schematic look with the head of a cyborg or robot (see reference examples provided). Please do not make it cartoonish. It can also be somewhat abstract as long as it looks like a mechanical humanoid head. I am fine with a realistic image as long as it does not look comical, though I would probably lean more towards a little abstract than realism. If you want to try to show more of the cyborg humanoid body than just the head, I would be open to considering it though I prefer a head. I like older images of robots that look like they are from the 1930's as in Metropolis. The music on the album has dark undertones and is a bit aggressive at times. It is also melodic and emotional being mostly electronic. This mechanical being you are designing should not be happy but somewhat ominous.
I like the look of Steam Punk imagery (Victorian Sci-Fi). One of the tracks is actually called, "Steam Punk Highway". I also like the look of the Metropolis posters.
Cyborg Asylum is an electro rock band made up of synthesizers, samplers, guitars, drums and vocals. It's influences are Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Duran Duran, various film composers and late romantic composers such as Mussorgsky, Elfman, and Stravinsky.
