We are creating a book for a life coach and we are looking for an artist to create simple, original, line drawings that accompany each practice. We have included one of the practices below. Please review and create a black and white line drawing that would best fit the idea covered.
Accept, Appreciate and Give Compliments
A compliment is a verbal gift. When you deny a compliment, it is an insult to the giver. When you accept a compliment, it’s an acknowledgment and when you give a compliment it is a gift you give yourself.
It’s not so easy to accept compliments. It may seem vain and conceited, yet, receiving them is a sign of confidence and grace. It does take practice.
When we pay a compliment to someone, we feel good about ourselves by making another person feel better about him or herself!
Becoming complimentary causes you to find the good in people, because you are always looking for it. I’m not saying that you should ever say something that is not in your heart-you must be sincere. If you are thinking something nice- say it!
When you receive a compliment of any kind, just say “thank you.”
Start looking for genuinely nice things to say to people. It will become automatic. Watch peoples’ faces light up when you compliment them. Believe me – most people rarely get compliments and a few nice words can really make someone’s day.
If the only prayer you say in your life is ‘thank you,’ that would suffice.
