My book is targeted to overworked and overwhelmed professionals who feel like they're stuck on the gerbil wheel. The book will give them simple, practical steps they can take to be more mindful in their work and life.
I need a series of illustrations to enhance some of the points I'm writing about in the book. I'd like for the winner of this project to work with me in a one on one relationship to develop another five or six illustrations in addition to the one I'm describing in this brief. I'm on a tight deadline so everything will need to be completed within the next two weeks.
The illustration for his brief needs to complement the point that many professionals are in a state of chronic fight or flight (controlled by their sympathetic nervous system) and that they can be more mindful by learning how to activate their rest and digest response (controlled by their parasympathetic nervous system). One way to think of it is that the fight or flight system is the accelerator and the rest and digest system is the brakes. The two need to work in conjunction with each other.
I'm looking for a simple, approachable (friendly) sketch that would provide a picture for the reader of how of the fight or flight response and the rest and digest responses work in their body. The picture needs to be scientifically sound but not at a high level of anatomical detail. It should be something the reader can grasp and get the gist of quickly.
Looking forward to your take on this!
