a road map. My book is called Facing the Finish: A Road Map for Aging Parents and Adult Children (See http://www.FacingTheFinish.com).
The idea is to turn the basic topics into a road map. The chapter headings are: making decisions, dealing with family, caregiving and caregteting, housing, health care, money, and facing the finish. I will work directly with the short listed designers to populate the road map with the details as the contest evolves. For first round, I want concepts rather than the focus being on details. The concept is that there are many starting places, many destinations, and many routes.
This road map will be used as a leave behind with referral sources, as a handout when I'm speaking or leading a workshop or seminar, and on websites or other collateral material as well, perhaps in miniature form. Ideally, it would be great if this could be "placemat" sized. I want the road map to indicate the common stops along the journey of aging and caregiving, as well as the detours and "scenic" routes. With whimsy, but not cartoonish.
