We founded Guerrilla Food in 2014. Guerrilla Food uses food as medicine to to promote healing and build sustainable, resilient community. We source locally and make everything from scratch. We operate a food truck called the Pink Flamingo (image below), and in 2019, we opened our carryout, Pink Flamingo To Go. Pink Flamingo To Go provides affordable food and drinks. Our target audience is conscious-minded people who want to eat healthy food and support a local food ecosystem.

We have a double-sided 10' tall x 12' wide billboard sign in our parking lot. We have a design in mind, but haven't found an artist who has been able to accurately draw a realistic silverback gorilla. We're attaching an image of our closest mockup, as well as a face of a young silverback gorilla we like and an image of an older silverback. We would like an image of a gorilla standing among bamboo holding up a sign saying "Pink Flamingo To Go : Food as Medicine by Guerrilla Food". Above the gorilla are flamingos flying. The gorilla is holding up the sign because the carryout restaurant (Pink Flamingo To Go) is supported by Guerrilla Food. Guerrilla Food is the company that is powering the work of the carryout, by providing the foundation, the mission and the values by which the carryout operates. We use the image of the gorilla as our logo because it is a powerful image of strength, community and nature, and a reminder for us to practice humanity with grace and cooperation. We don't want the gorilla to look angry, but majestic, healthy and content. We use the double-entendre "gorilla/guerrilla" because we are rebels for food justice, and believe in the revolutionary power of food to heal individuals and community. Gorillas are representative of this peaceful power. We use the image of the flamingo for a couple reasons: 1) the Pink Flamingo food truck is a vintage airstream and is inspired by Florida, flamingos and the kitschy vintage lawn flamingos; 2) we use flamingos to remind us that we are all pink on the inside! The gorilla reminds us of the majesty and power of nature, and asks us to question what does our humanity really mean, and are we living up to its potential. The flamingo is another communal animal (one of our slogans for the Pink Flamingo is "get the flock over here!"), but acts as a foil for the strong and intimidating gorilla by being pretty, "feminine" and colorful. Our logo for Pink Flamingo To Go is attached. We are using neon to evoke a vintage feel, while also referencing the original Pink Flamingo food truck. We are located on a busy street with lots of cars traveling pretty fast. We want to draw attention to our location, while also tying together the two brands of Pink Flamingo and Guerrilla Food.
*Update: We will give preference to realistic images from scratch vs modified images. However, this image will be very large, and we do still want it to look realistic, not cartoonish. Please reach out with any questions! Here are our complaints with our original "coming soon" image: 1) we would like the sky to look like twilight/sunset. Image attached for sky color gradation. We would like the clouds to look more realistic as well. 2) the gorilla is not realistic or accurate. It looks angry and mean, we don't like its face, the fur and hands don't look realistic, and the leaf in its mouth is too big (we also don't want the lead to be mistaken for marijuana!). A big concern is that the gorilla will look too human, or like a caricature, and we don't want that. The young silverback face is a reference for the face, and the young gorilla image (last image) is a reference for how the fur should look 3) we like the mix of colors used for our website, and would like these colors used for "Food as Medicine by Guerrilla Food"
