Maika Janat is a Portland-based creative and event management professional by way of Frankfurt and Berlin, Germany. Maika worked for a well-respected event production company for 13 years and grew as an intern and producer in Frankfurt to become the U.S. branch president of satis&fy in Portland, Oregon. After running the company’s U.S. interest in Portland for just two years, she was honored by the Portland Business Journal as one of its 40under40 awardee at the age of 31. Maika has taken a break from the event world to write this book, give birth to her wonderful daughter, Lucy, and add to her massive sneaker collection gathered from around the globe! This book summarizes her event career in a practical sense, delving into her real-life experiences, her inspiration, and her motivation. Maika is a true testament to the fact that hard work, commitment, authenticity, and a “go.see.do” attitude are key ingredients to success.

My book is called Go.See.DO. - 10 quotes to live by as young professional. It's a fiction book consisting of 10 short stories and 10 post cards which have been illustrated by a friend and designer. This book is a self-help book for young professionals. My target audience are young professionals, college graduates, first time workers and all kinds of young professionals between 17 - 35 years. The book is also a contribute to the event industry ( that's where I learned my lessons).

My illustrator and friend, Anna, has designed 10 post cards that( one for each chapter. The design will be printed in the book ( right before the new chapter) and there will be 10 physical post cards in the back of the book ( in an envelope). I am currently running design contest with 99 designs for the cover and I will hopefully pick a winner by the end of the week. So we will have a cover inspiration as well.
