According to my developer, the black tinted transparent layer will have a maximum width of 1.170 pixels on large screens, it scales itself down on smaller screens, just like the background does. He recommended to use a background of 1920 x 1080 (aspect ratio 16:9) as in that size it will also look good on larger screen sizes. I tested how large the visible part have to be; I want to have it stick out at the sides of the black tinted transparent layer and if a visible coverage of 90% is used, it will be perfect. So at 90% of the 1920x1080 the fade to solid black should be completed.
Feel free to use additional colours in the illustration.
As a reference for good colour combinations, the following colours are being used at the moment;
- Logo: orange #E56504, gray #949494 and blue #0075C4
- Website main colours: orange #E56504, footer grey #1c1c1c, breadcrumb grey #1b1b1b, cart slide grey, #363636, for the black tinted transparent layer #000000 is used with an alpha (transparency) of 0.8.
As mentioned before, the illustration will have a double use; as a background for the website and as a print for the back of a t-shirt. So please keep this in mind regarding size and quality. The “canvas” should have a aspect ratio of 16:9 and be down sizable to 1920x1080 for use on the website as a background.
This is my first illustration project; I have tried to put as much effort into it as possible and I hope it is sufficient. If you still need more guidance, or have remarks or questions, just ask.
Extra Feedback concerning received questions and remarks of designers:
Like mentioned, I would like to have a result in the direction of Graffiti Technica. others I also like; http://www.boredpanda.com/3d-graffi…rt-odeith/
Please don't forget that I want to have the logo recognizable in the art piece and it should draw attention to it.
The designs I received so far, are lacking attention to the logo.
Perhaps I was not clear enough, but with draw attention to it; I mean that the logo should take a prominent place in the design.
So preferable as large as possible and with Specialties merged into it, all with a 3D effect. FD is the recognizable part in my company name and Specialties is a phrase that a lot of companies use, so that's why the logo (FD) part should be really presence in the design. In the end design I would like to see gloss and reflection effects in the Graffiti.
