We are delighted to announce a special competition to celebrate this unique artist and her landmark new recording. In Act II of Giacomo Puccini’s world famous opera, Tosca, the heroine’s great aria begins with the famous words:
“Vissi d’arte, vissi d’amore.”
The iconic phrase introduces us to one of the best-loved arias in the repertoire: “I have lived for art, I have lived for love.” This is the spirit of “Verismo” and Anna herself.
Deutsche Grammophon in cooperation with 99designs are looking for an illustration of these famous words as a key visual for the communication of this album via all social media and online channels.
The words “Vissi d’arte, vissi d’amore” can be designed and interpreted as the illustrator prefers, whether hand-drawn or rendered entirely digitally or a mix of both. We are searching for the best and most innovative approach to capture the feeling of Verismo and these words. The winning design will be chosen by Anna
Participants should feel free to add illustrative elements to the visual interpretation of the text.
