We're looking for a 2000 (horizontal) x 1054 (~2.11 MB) pixel image to be used as the background image for a law firm website. (See the background image to the blaney.com website, which has a very similar template to what we will be using.)
The image should convey that we take a mess of complicated matters and clarify them by gathering multiple colours and textures into a single line. (See the image attached reference image (with coloured threads and "we clarify") as a reference, which is not ours but helpfully came across our desk soon after we had formed this concept.)
Our image should be similar to the attached image, but instead of the coloured threads there should be splotches of colours and textures. Googling "paint textures" gives you an idea of varying textures and colours. Please keep in mind that the colours and textures used will likely be the same as used for the website. We think we like Oxblood as a colour, but are not married to it, if other ideas emerge. Down the line, we may want the entire image to be adapted for business cards and our letterhead as well.
Whitespace: The colours shouldn't take up the entire left side of the screen as we'll need some whitespace above and below for links. So if it's a smaller image, on the leftmost end measuring about 1/3rd to 3/5ths would be ideal. Images can be cut abruptly to flat whitespace, but fading woudl be a better option. Even better, perhaps, the image might just be smaller so seem complete rather than truncated. The proof will be in the image viewed as a whole, of course.
