My apologies to the designers that started this competition designing for two styles. I'm sorry, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to manage 99design contests. I originally wanted two designs, but I am now thinking it'll be better to have you all focus on just one style, best board wins! :D
I'm hoping someone can take this concept to the next level and put into illustrator format. I do eventually need another 7 more boards designed so if someone demonstrates a knack for this work, we can talk about doing more! :D
So a really important thing to keep in mind with these boards are the little graphical icons that the final designs will all have. These are being designed concurrently in another contest and should be available by the end of the week (we'll add them to your design then). So for now, you can leave the boards totally void of these or use these icon examples (prowler performance, turtle shell tough, wave master), or do whatever you want for placeholders really... I'll be able to visualize your design complete with them anyways so no worries, this is really just about the board design itself, color scheme, etc. I hope I'm making sense.
The first board design I want to be in a similar style as this design: http://www.fanatic.com/product/falcon/
The shape of the board is going to be similar (only 12' vs. 12.5'), so feel free to use that exact board shape as an exact template (top/bottom/both sides). I'm thinking a light/bright lime green with grays and blacks and whites is the color scheme but again, I'm looking to mimic the falcon board as close as possible. Colors are open.
I would be remiss if I didn't open up the competition to a totally different design concept I haven't thought of, so feel free to be creative! Best design wins! But the key is in the details, so please pay close attention!
Note One: The integration of the deck pad is important. These can be different colors, have a logo, and be in several different materials (mesh material, hard surface, rubber-type). Also, overall I tend to favor a simpler, minimalist aesthetic. I attached a lot of cool boards that I like, you'll notice some patterns. Thanks!
