We're about to launch product reviews. Each review will include a numerical score from 1-5, including 1 decimal. This will translate to a letter grade. For example:
We want to create an illustration that shows both the number and the letter grade. The letter grade should be the focal point. The illustration should also include our brand and the name of the product. If there is no way to make it clear which brand is the product name, then the illustration should include only our brand.
We think a semicircle dial would work well to show the number. The letter grade could reside in middle. I've attached a design I found on Dribble as well as my own sketch.
We use the font Helvetica Now for most of our artwork.
The illustration should be in Adobe Illustrator format. The elements that change each time — numerical score, letter grade, brands — should be easy for our production designer to edit. Most products will score 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, or 5.0 so we could create 11 versions if this part of the illustration is too intricate for a non-illustrator.
The illustration needs to be versatile enough for both online and PDF use. It should be clear enough so that a mobile user can see the grade clearly (score is less important).
