Update: We are leaning toward designs on a white (or light, if those designs come in) background and ones with colour splashed through them. Feel free to use even more colour if you wanted, if you think something might look better then go for it. For example, when we originally wrote the brief we through we wanted mainly grays with not much white, and we have already been shown that the white background (compared to gray) is much better in our office.
We have now guaranteed the prize, but will not be making it blind at this point of the contest sorry.
We have a 3.8m (width) x 2.6m (height) wall that we would like a mural of sorts put on there.
We are sourcing a design that we can either turn into wallpaper/a sticker via a separate company or for an artist to then reproduce it on the wall.
The theme is inspiring technologists/scientists such as Alan Turing, Nicola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Galileo, Einstein etc. We would like a combination of quite a few of these guys, plus any others that you feel could fit in with them (maybe Joan Clarke, Rosalind Franklin?)
Portraits or full bodies, it's up to you.
We just had a bunch of colour splashed throughout the office, so we would be after something that uses blacks, whites and grays, with a bit of colour through it (or not, up to you). At the same time we don't want it to make our space feel smaller (like a completely black wall does).
The bottom left and right corners (bottom middle is ok) wont be seen too well, so the focus should be on the top half + the bottom middle.
We want the faces to look realistic and not be cartoon-ish.
Some examples of the art style we like, although the first is our favourite:
Should you want to try any other art style however, such as an 1984 type thing, feel free to go ahead! We might be asking for one thing, but only because we aren't aware of what else could be done.
If you require any extra information, such as pictures of the space it will be going, please feel free to contact me.
