This is a model for running a company, a teaching tool. In addition to marketing materials, we will use it in PowerPoint presentations, so we will need each of the elements able to stand alone as a separate image as well. (When teaching this, we plan to show the entire model, then discuss each part, one at a time.)
OVERALL IMAGRY AND GENERAL STYLE
I want to create an “engine” or “machine”, but I put those in quotes because I do not want to attempt to make it detailed and realistic. Instead, I want it to feel like an icon or logo—an abstract idea that does not invite mechanics to correct my placement of engine parts.
I want the overall outline of the model to be able to be reduced to an icon/logo at the top of a page or bottom of a document. But I want there to be a version that expands and has internal parts that can be labeled.
I want the style to be clean. I want to have it free floating (not on a surface, no shadow on the ground, etc.). Font should be sans-seraph.
DEFINING TERMS AND HOW THEY INTERACT IN THE MODEL
This customer info “feeds” or “fuels” the rest of the machine. It could sit to the left outside the machine, or be attached and feeding insight from the external world into the machine. It could be on the top, pouring downward, too.
Each of the three below I imagine as gears in the engine/machine. But I’m open to other images:
This is the leftmost image inside the machine. It could be the biggest/heaviest of the three gears, up to being as big as the other two put together (but it doesn’t have to be bigger than the other two if you prefer another arrangement). It could also be that the other two gears depend on this one to work (at least, that’s how the ideas will be communicated in the teaching model).
This is the center of the 3 gears. It could be a different color or shape or size than the other, but it should fit the overall image style, of course.
This is the rightmost of the gears. Again, it could be unique in some way, as long as it fits the theme. But it doesn’t have to be unique, either.
True Leadership Team
This could be an icon of people, but it could also be an arrow or compass, to imply direction. The teaching is that we need the entire leadership team to align and lead the organization this way. They are responsible for building and running this machine. So this image could be the foundation/platform the machine rests on, or the frame of the engine, or floating over the top encompassing all the other parts.
This is the output of the machine/engine. The overall title is the Raving Fans Engine. It could be included in the graphic of the teaching model, but it could also just be floating above or below the image (not necessarily a part of the overall model).
