RentRocket.org is a non-profit green rental housing tool being developed by a coalition of cities around the U.S. to: (1) help renters consider sustainability factors (such as utility costs, energy efficiency, and access to transit and recycling facilities) alongside other factors (such as rent, number of baths, access to laundry facilities, etc.) when making housing decisions; and (2) help landlords both grasp the value of sustainability investments as a marketable asset and share their sustainability achievements.
1) Primary: Renters – college students, young professionals – Millennials, cost-conscious, inexperienced with housing decisions, may or may not be environmentally-conscious
2) Secondary: Landlords and property managers
¿Qué idea tienes, qué estilo te gusta para tu landing page?
Simple, modern, youthful (targeting Millennials age 18-35). Colors: charcoal gray/muted lime green (Pantone 424/417 and 377); open to a third accent color – preference for orange or purple, but flexible since we do not currently have a defined color palette for the brand. Sans serif font preferred. Would like to have environmentally-conscious theme present, but subtle -- we want to stand out among the competition (rental property aggregation websites), but also attract a broader base of renters beyond those that are eco-conscious
• Would like homepage design to incorporate responsive design and usability best practices in addition to be visually appealing. Extra attention will be granted to designs showing multiple screen interpretations (from mobile phone to desktop computers).
