Inspiring Design for our Student - College/University Networking Platform

Your29 is a digital destination that connects students with relevant colleges/universities (think LinkedIn + eHarmony/Bumble). We are still working on fully defining our mission, but it aligns to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #4 - Quality Education. Our initial target market are the 8 million high school student athletes vying for the ~600,000 roster spots on college teams. Today, students from the most privileged backgrounds are more than 3X as likely to be college athletes as those from the most disadvantaged backgrounds. Students attending financially poorer schools were also less likely to play college sports, independent of their family’s situation. Of those student-athletes that do earn a coveted roster spot, 45% of them aren't on the roster in their second year. The Your29 team wants to change that dynamic, and level the playing field for student athletes regardless of their socio-economics. We also want to improve the "match rates", so schools and student athletes are wasting a bunch of time and money on a bad match. There are a number of recruiting solutions/service for high school athletes looking to gain a position on a college team roster. There are also a variety of services that offer different curriculums to help high school students get into different schools and maybe also coveted roster spots on colleges sports teams, but all of them focus primary on the needs of the colleges and universities (or organizations like the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, etc.) and then on the students. These solutions also cost the students money. At Your29, we are creating a solution that is free to the students and helps them discover more about themselves before matching them with relevant schools (e.g., Do you want to play 1 sport or more than 1? Most D1 schools only want you playing 1 sport, but D2 and D3 schools offer more flexibility. Do you want to stay close to home? Do you know what areas of study you're interested in, since <1% of college athletes go pro?). It also offers the resources needed to apply to different athletics programs, schools, scholarships and financial grant programs. We want Your29 to be a solution that sets high school students up for success and makes that success accessible to all rather than the lucky few. Whether that is making college/university attendance possible (and matching them to the best schools for them), helping them find vocational programs that fit their desires and aptitudes and/or finding a job. The Pitch: Deciding what to do after high school can feel overwhelming and like an insurmountable task--like scaling Mount Everest. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Let Your29 be your guide and help you scale your twenty-nine thousand foot Everest. Your29 uses personality and compatibility tests along with AI technology to find the schools and programs that match with you.

We'd like to use the orange as more of an accent and really lean into the blue and green as primary colors.
