The winning design will:
- have a core concept in line with the type of business we are,
- be in a style which is appropriate for our business and our prospective clients,
- include artwork and typography which is well executed and precise,
- be unique, fresh and inspiring.
We're not sure combining H and M to create a lettermark really works, but we're open to being convinced otherwise.
Probably an abstract/iconic mark would be better, or something falling between a brandmark and wordmark style. Something representing what we do as a business.
Although please be careful with "people" symbols as we're not too keen on those - and we would like to avoid these if possible - see http://www.gomoodboard.com/boards/2cFg9Dr7/share for examples of what we do NOT like.
Could just be the words Harvey McColl with the right typography and colours. But it will have to be very very good if it's to be that simple and still be fresh and unique.
We're looking for a clean, clear, crisp logo, that does NOT use (or look like it has used) stock art, free vectors or clip art.
And most importantly a logo which is engaging for our target audience of senior business executives in medium to large corporations.
Some examples of what we DO like - http://www.gomoodboard.com/boards/0DBGE2Xy/share.
Some fonts we like are Proxima Nova, Gotham and Nexa. You don't have use them in your designs, it just gives you an idea of what we do like.
We'll probably prefer a flat style design given current trends, but this isn't set in stone.
Our new logo will primarily be used as follows:
- on website, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, Facebook,
- on business cards,
- on letterhead,
- within Microsoft PowerPoint presentations,
- within proposal documents and deliverables produced for clients (typically Microsoft Word),
- within infographics.
Note final version will need to be sufficiently high definition that it looks clear and crisp on devices with Retina screens.
We're typically online between 08:00 and 22:00 UK time and happy to answer any questions during that time, so please ask. Also feedback will be provided on all designs between those times.
Update 27/04/15 - We're disappointed to note quite a few submissions which use symbols like these - http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-119…icons.html or http://thumb1.shutterstock.com/disp…308634.jpg.
We really are looking for something unique, and also please note 99designs Stock Image and Clip Art Policy - https://support.99designs.com/hc/en…Art-Policy.
