We are looking for an illustrative logo that depicts stonemasonry and/or the northern lights and that has a quality handcrafted feel.
We prefer illustration over flat vector artwork, but open to ideas if concept is strong enough.
Creative symbols are welcome, but the concept must be creative and not resemble vector clip art.
Please try to balance stonemasonry with the northern lights. If one is dominant in the design please make it the stonemasonry.
Stonemasonry should be tight dry laid stones like the stonework found in the attachments.
The typography should be creative with a nice contrast between the northern lights and masonry. If you feel you have an alternative concept worth pursing we're open to ideas.
The logo should not be too loud, should look professional and reflect the same quality, craftsmanship and artistry as our high-end custom stonework.
No bricks, no trowels, no mortar, no cement, no construction workers or construction site related material (hard hats, overalls, etc...) in the logo.
The northern lights should absolutely not be a photo of the northern lights.
Please see the woodblock prints for creative ideas of how to represent the northern lights through lines and shapes.
We are also planning on using our logo on our trucks and equipment as well as our work shirts. So please keep the size and scale in mind when designing the logo.
*** CONCEPT 1 ****
A stone arch featuring tight stonework with a small scene in the middle of the arch. The bottom third of the arch has small piece of land with a horizon line and the top two thirds is a night sky with northern lights.
*** CONCEPT 2 ***
A nice stone wall with tight stonework with a person's silhouette sitting on the stone wall looking into a nice sky featuring northern lights.
*** CONCEPT 3 ***
A big boulder or rock face with the northern lights carved into the side with some tools (chisel, rock hammer) lying next to the carving.
These are just some ideas we had, if we'd also love to see any creative concepts that you come up with as well! If you have any questions please reach out! Thanks!
