Create an improved logo for Nobel 101 and business card design

We provide peer-to-peer preparation courses to college and university students, aimed to prepare them for their final exams.

I'd like to explore the following colors: Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth. Oranges: Creativity, adventure and happiness.

Our target audience are college and university students who are studying for their finals. We want the logo to look well in monochrome too. We want an improved version of our current logo (see file: current.logo.png) replacing the "námsbúðir"-part with "101". Designers can choose one or both of these two approaches; (1) do something very similar to the uploaded sketch (see file: sketch.approach1.jpg), or (2) do something totally different and original. If approach (1) is chosen, we want the "101" part to look like a power cord coming from the light bulb (see file: sketch.approach1.jpg). If approach (2) is chosen, we just want something totally original based on whatever you think would work. However, we included two ideas that we really like (see files: 1.approach2.jpg and 2.approach2.jpg) Thanks in advance and good luck! :)
