We are a couple that has a diversified farm and restaurant in Central Vermont. We have been successfully selling products from our farm and kitchen locally and are ramping up to a subscription box service that will incorporate small batch producer products, exclusively from Vermont.
Each box will contain a handful of seasonal products produced on our farm and/or in our kitchen, as well other local producers, ranging from hand crafted soaps to specialty food products. Each month, we include a small surprise that embodies Vermont, like a vintage sap spout or poetry from a local poet, etc. Although monthly boxes are available, consumers can also purchase an entire "season", like a winter season or sugaring season.
Our target audience will be people, mainly women, who are sophisticated taste makers and consumers who seek authenticity from their products. We expect most consumers will already have some kind of connection to Vermont, whether a transplanted Vermonter on the west coast or someone who visits for vacations. We also expect to reach an audience that may not have been to Vermont, but feels a connection because of its reputation for quality, world renowned food producers, small agriculture and the outdoors. That, and Vermont is wonderfully quirky.
