Most safari companies include a safari animal in their logo, but the problem with that approach is that all the common animals -- lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, etc. -- have already been used. In addition, we believe most of those logos are quite unoriginal and boring. (Some examples of those logos are attached.)
Also attached are our first attempts at a logo which we have rejected. The problem with these are that the beetle is a negative, because it may imply to some that Africa is full of cockroaches and other horrible insects! The other issue was that the palm tree and the map of Africa was not particularly interesting or unique. It looked a bit gimmicky/cartoonish to us.
We want something that is simple, classy, and speaks of African nature. For example, one idea we had was the silhouette of an an Umbrella Acacia tree, silhouetted by the setting sun on the Serengeti Plain. But we don't want to restrict ourselves to just one idea, and that might also be considered boring and unoriginal!
Finally, we don't want a tribes person depicted in our logo, because that has been done before and it is not what we're really about. We're about the nature experience.
