You should NOT NOT NOT include the tagline with the design. I just put that in there to help you understand what the tagline is...
Red, white, blue, and gold or silver are the colors. The logo MUST look good in one color only. This will be challenging due to the red/blue of the American flag -- but, like the Salt Life car decal stickers that are in white only, I want this logo to look good, strong, and distinctive in one color only.
More notes since the contest has been underway:
Hey, designers! Here are a couple of other lifestyle brands that are similar to ours -- except that ours is BOAT-focused! Check out the art and design of these companies to be inspired for this contest: Simply Southern, Vineyard Vines, Fish Hippie, Life is Good. Just google the different brands if you haven't heard from them or live outside the USA. Thanks to each of you for participating in this contest!
- I'm now willing to consider doing something slightly different with the word "yacht" that is part of the word "Patriyachtic" -- that's what makes this wordmark so special... it is a play on words (for anyone who is English as a second language...).
- A friend of mine suggested that maybe the back of the boat -- known as the transom -- might be an interesting angle, because that's where the name of a boat often appears... and that's also where the ensign flag appears. So maybe the shape is that of a boat transom... with the name "Patriyachtic" on it... and the US ensign flag coming off the top of the transom... there are some additional pictures added for your consideration/inspiration.
Again, thank you!! And smooth sailin'!
