Amla’s flagship offering is an expert training in a specific, simple, life-changing style of meditation called Vedic Meditation. But more so than that, Amla offers people access to the life that awaits them, the life they’d hoped was possible but had been previously out of reach. It is the key to finally unlocking the change they’ve been looking for, a simple tool to naturally and without struggle be a happier healthier version of themselves and to blossom into their full potential. So, more than simply selling meditation, I'm selling the idea that life can feel SO different, and that change--even massive, 180 degree change--is not only possible but so much closer, so much easier than we think. And it can start today.
My target audience is anyone looking for a change, anyone who suspects that there’s a different way to experience life. It’s key that I appeal to as wide a range of people as possible as this approach is something that works for EVERYONE. So it’s important for me to reach:
People who have never tried meditation--because of misconceptions about meditation (it’s for hippies) or about themselves (they can’t quiet their minds, can’t sit still, never follow through)--or due to being overwhelmed by all the choices out there.
People who tried meditation and it it didn’t work, was too hard, they didn’t stick with it--and so have decided it isn’t for them
People who already meditate--maybe it’s not quite doing it for them, they want to graduate to a more powerful experience, or they don’t even know how much more they can be getting.
Vedic Meditation is not like other types of meditation (and there are SO MANY out there… as well as a lot of stuff that is called meditation these days--it can get pretty overwhelming, pretty complicated, pretty woo-woo.) With Vedic Meditation (and I explain all this because the tone of all this needs to come across in the logo), you don't have to concentrate or clear your mind of thoughts. No sitting in uncomfortable positions, no incense, no chanting. You don't need silence, nor anyone guiding you--you learn how to do this totally on your own and you can do it anywhere, anytime. It's easy, enjoyable, effortless and something anyone can do. It’s for real people with real lives. And it’s insanely effective. Meditation (and the change that comes naturally as a result) doesn’t have to be nearly as complicated, nearly as much of a struggle, as we think. The search is over.
I’m highly trained and an expert teacher, there for my students (anyone who works with me gets a lifetime of free, ongoing support and access to me as their teacher / supporter for life), and extremely relatable and accessible. I’m still a real person with a real job and busy demanding life---one that has been personally transformed by Vedic Meditation. I truly love sharing this gift with others and never tire of seeing it change their lives as it did mine--and that passion radiates and is key to the brand identity.
The goal in creating a logo (and the website on which it will appear) is to expand my audience. I have been operating by word of mouth and referrals but it’s time to take it to the next level. I want to get more customers for the training as well as those who opt to pay for private instruction. I also want to work more with companies (especially tech companies as I live in the Bay Area) and non-profit organizations, schools, hospitals, prisons, etc--hence the importance of a polished and professional look. And I want to do more writing and being asked to speak, becoming an influencer. When people visit the website I want them to sign up for a course, get on my mailing list, or contact me to hire or partner with me in some way.
Lastly, some background on the Amla, or Indian Gooseberry, which an actual berry after which the company is named: it’s is a quite unassuming fruit that you’ve probably never heard of. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. But it has been used for thousands of years around the world to treat everything from high cholesterol to diabetes to rashes to scurvy to heart disease…. to manage pain and increase hair growth and prevent aging…. to increase energy and immunity…. the list goes on and on. What I teach is just like the Amla Berry, in that
- something so simple can be so powerful
- and can fix SO many seemingly unrelated things (including problems you didn’t even know you had)
- seems to good to be true--but it's not
- it actually can be that simple and easy
- lots of people around the world know about Amla but you've never heard of it
This simple change, that packs a powerful punch and is the key to a whole new experience of life, is right under our nose, and so much easier than you can imagine.
Details of what I want in the logo follow further down in the brief.
