I like the idea of using a circular version of Penrose Stairs in the logo (and as a powerful iconic mark), similar to Escher's "Ascending and Descending". I thought of having a Flash animation showing circular Penrose Stairs with a ball (in Italian colors) continuously "Ascend-ing".
I would like a logo, and then a complementary font to be used for websites, correspondence and proposals. I would like a font with fixed numerals (I have a company that uses Agenda font, but the difference in sizes between "1" and "2" makes for ragged proposals).
Target audience is primarily remodelers, then people involved in new construction who need spiral staircases. I would like it to appeal to women (60/40) since they drive the initial choices. I am open to other color choices, but my first thoughts were black/red. I want the process to be simple and quick, so a clean logo is important. The image must translate easily to a website, since that will be the main portal for the company.
The website will be http://www.ascend-stairs.com. We will NOT market the lowest-cost products; our products will be cost-competitive, but will focus more on ordering simplicity and stylish options rather than cost.
Later, the website will market stairs other than spiral stairs, but spirals will be the initial foray.
