When I came up with the name, I wanted something that was a fun play on words, yet easily understood. I wanted that feeling when you take a bite out of something and it is so delicious it brings you back to fond, loving memories, gives you warm fuzzies and you just have to have it again. When you taste something and all you can say is, "You have to try this! This is so flippin good!" I'd like my logo to have that same type of sentiment: from my house to yours, made just like grandma (hoping that she baked good), made with love, etc.
A LOT of people have cupcakes and/or cakes on their bakery logos...I am wanting to not implement them as it's very cliche and won't separate me from the pack. So unless you have a very innovative and interesting way to add either of those, please avoid them. I'm looking for something that is different and unique, yet still portrays a bakery...it could be anything from a cake stand to an icing bag to a cake mixer to a whisk or rolling pin, chef hat, female chef, piece of cake on a fork or spoon, etc. Please NO hearts or flowers. While they are cute, it's just not my personality.
I do prefer script/handwriting over block writing. It is more feminine and has more of the vibe I am looking for. I like fun, playful, but also a touch of sophisticated. Old soul/old school values with a modern sense of style.
I also need something that will look good in black/white if I need to fax or make copies of invoices, etc.
To give a little about me that may help understand my personality (since it's such a part of my home bakery business). I am an Irish Italian, disabled military vet that loves my family and friends, has a soft spot for animals, is very giving to others and enjoys donating time, cakes and cupcakes to organizations like Icing Smiles, Free Cakes 4 Kids and Birthday Cakes 4 Free. I foster Pit Bulls for ACPBRR. I am a feisty, quick-witted, Celtic and skull tattooed, curly haired redhead that loves to laugh, cooks for everyone and anyone and am very artistic myself. I am a softy with an edge. I love all kinds of art, but find myself leaning towards modern abstract paintings and a weak spot for antiques and vintage furniture.
I hope this has helped give you an idea of who I am, what I represent and what I am looking for. I have attached Sample logos of what I liked based on a google search. These were ones that were different because they didn't have just the typical cake or cupcake on them. They had a picture of something that maybe represented part of the name (wings for Angels) or the logo itself wasn't the typical horizontal name straight across, added graphic design swirls or they added a modern twist to a vintage look.
I would love to know your thought process behind your designs...it would greatly help me in my feedback to you. Be creative and most of all have fun!
