We are a family-run candy distribution company that has been in Seattle since 1946. Our current customers include a large retail drug store chain, independent gas stations, gift shops, and pharmacies. We distribute almost any kind of candy you can think of as well as snack foods.
Our value proposition is that we are the "local guys" - we aren't the giant distributor who is over-charging the client and we provide a great service to them in the form of merchandising and our candy expertise to help them boost their retail candy & snack food sales.

We have a good market share in the Seattle area, but are currently trying to expand the business to more independent/local grocery stores, gas stations, gift shops, pharmacies, etc.) These independent stores are often purchasing either from one of our distributing competitors (most of whom are not local or "the big guys") or are purchasing from large wholesale stores (you know which ones I'm talking about).
We've been around since 1946 and want a new logo that stands out but still implies our experience and longevity to our current customers and our target clients.
We've put "candy specialists" on our invoices for years, but have never incorporated this into our logo and were contemplating including this somewhere. Our catch-phrase is "there's always a way" and we would be interested in seeing one of these phrases incorporated if you, the artist, feel it is aesthetically pleasing and would work with the logo you design.
Basically, feel free to be creative with the logo... if you want to check out our website (http://www.halfoncandy.com) you can see the current one (which isn't very unique)... Basically, we want something more memorable.
One that I guess I would be curious in is something that incorporates our initials, HCC I think a logo could maybe look good with that in it.
