I'm a personal finance enthusiast who writes bluntmoney.com. I'm in the process of re-branding that blog and taking to the next level, which will include a podcast. I write in a casual, friendly style on a variety of money-related topics. I also post frequently about goals.

The people who visit my current site are mostly married women age 30-40 from the US & Canada. Most of them don't have kids, work at least full time for an employer, and seem very busy. There are also a decent number of men on the site, with similar stats to the women. Many of the visitors have college degrees. Based on a reader survey, their main goals and problems are retirement, getting out of debt, learning about investing, and saving for the future and for specific goals like buying a house.
Logo must be completely original so that it can be trademarked. (No clip art, no stock photos, no copyrighted fonts.)
Logo must be no higher than 160 pixels at 72dpi for the web version, and should look good reduced so that it can be used as podcast artwork. I'd like a 300dpi version as well that's suitable for print. Prefer a .psd file.
Design-wise the moneycrush logo should feel catchy, proactive, and make people feel like they're in control of their finances. I'm not looking for anything business-like or stodgy.
Preferred colors are blues or greens, possibly with an accent color, but if you have other colors in mind I'd be interested to see them. (Although I do not like pink.)
