Update: hard preference for abstract design, creative use of line and color. Please no imagery of bodies/faces. I understand that that's an obvious angle, but not one we're looking for. Thanks. Women in Consumer Finance is a conference and web resource. Our target audience is, as the name suggests, for women executives in our corner of financial services. What we do, and do well, is provide a really engaging networking environment designed to help our people really get to know one another and develop genuine friendships. We also give our people space, time and insight they can use to rethink and redirect their careers.

TL;DR - The challenge here is to create a logo for Women in Consumer Finance (WCF) that conveys two ideas simultaneously. 1. This is a serious, legit, career-focused brand (solid, real, reliable!) and 2. There is something intriguing and engaging about it, too. This logo will represent a women's conference, yes, but for serious professionals, and for that reason, we don't want anything that reads as stereotypically feminine. It needs to let interested parties know that they're going to get real, practical insight and going to encounter a networking scene of people serious about building professional networks. Plus, the logo/brand needs to suggest to supervisors/managers that WCF that this is a place where their direct reports can go to help them advance their careers. But, this isn't strictly a serious event. It's practical and designed to help people with their careers, yes, but it's also fun, full-of-energy and maybe a little bit confessional/conspiratorial, too. We have, in the past, used a simple, spare logo - a helvetica-adjacent font, a rectangular border - to convey the seriousness of the event - and a pop of color - in this case a bright red - to suggest that a legitimate event can be exciting and engaging, too. Any new design would not have to use this formulation, but we would like for it to suggest these two qualities mentioned above. Potential bonus points if it does reference the old logo in some creative way. But, we're open to completely new ideas, too. We will need a standard logo that, ideally, uses that same pop of red in some way. But, the logo will need to be visually strong enough to stand on its own in an all-black and all-white versions, which we'll need, too. And finally, we'd like a scaled down / icon version of the logo, which retains the graphic elements of the standard logo, but only uses the letters "WCF". I have included examples of logos we have used for this brand in the past, including one with our old name, "Women in Consumer & Commercial Finance." Thank you for your interest.
