Craft Wine Society is the first co-operative winery in California. We craft high-quality, small lot, single vineyard wines for the co-op’s members for around half the cost of comparable wines. By pre-selling the wine in full each year, we eliminate unnecessary costs and pass the savings to the co-op members. If you enjoy artisan wine, but know you’re overpaying for it currently, we invite you to join the co-op and experience better wine at a lower price.
Our target customers will be consumers who:
Already invest in artisanal food products, and
Have an appreciation for integrity in food and beverage.
Food and beverage professionals: Likely to buy in to the concept that quality wine costs more than $30 and are willing to invest time and wait for quality wine.
Millennial food and beverage enthusiasts: The craft beer drinkers, “foodies” and “hipsters.” These consumers are expected to be less likely to see our products as a replacement for a $40 bottle they would have otherwise purchased, but will find the prospect of a heavily-discounted means of acquiring an artisanal product appealing.
Frugal wine drinkers: They’re looking to increase the quality of their wines without increasing their price paid. We do not expect a large percentage of this consumer to invest in this product but because it is the largest group of consumers in the market, a small percentage of these consumers will have a large impact on the company.
